Country Green Crescents Meet in Istanbul

The International Federation of Green Crescent organizes the "4th International Green Crescent Capacity Building Program” between 3rd and 6th December in Bakırköy, Istanbul, hosted by the Turkish Green Crescent Society.

Seminars on tobacco, alcohol, drugs, gambling and technology addictions, as well as local and regional presentations by member states of the International Federation of Green Crescent (IFGC) shall be made during the "4th International Green Crescent Capacity Building Program”.

Within the scope of the Capacity Building Program with over 200 participants, issues such as determination of prospective visions of 70 member states of the International Federation of Green Crescent (IFGC) throughout the world, addiction prevention programs, pilot projects to be realized by countries, efficient benefit from the International Financial Support Program offered by Turkish Green Crescent Society, and development led by the State of the Republic of Turkey will be at the forefront.

The Green Crescent President Prof. Dr. Mücahit Öztürk and Doris Resch on behalf of the United Nations Secretariat will make the opening speech of the program, and the Green Crescent General Manager Sultan Işık will make a presentation on "The Role of the family in addictions”.

The Green Crescent will share its experiences on addictions while the United Nations (UN), The World Health Organization (WHO), The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), The World Federation Against Drugs (WFAD) and other important Non-Governmental Organizations will share their information and projects in the two-day long program.
