Defining the place of donations in the financial system and supporting solidarity, which is one of the most important elements of social solidarity, is among the primary duties of the state. Therefore, it is of great importance to provide legal aid to donations and aids to non-governmental organizations, which they receive their material and moral power from society. With the legal arrangement made in 2012, all of the donations and aids provided to Green Crescent can be deducted 100% from the tax base, which has been struggling with public interest addictions and bad habits.

According to the 89th article of the Income Tax Law No. 193, donations and aids that will be made to Green Crescent directly or by electronic transactions, will be counted as tax deductions from annual income and earnings. In order for donors to benefit from the discount, they should receive the document “Association Revenues Have Received” during the delivery of the money to Green Crescent or its branches. In addition, receiving bank receipts and other similar documents of receipt as a result of the delivery or transfer of money to the Green Crescent accounts at banks, PTT or other financial institutions should be kept in order to declare of receiving discount.

While Green Crescent has been struggling with tobacco, drug, alcohol and gambling addictions since its establishment, it continues its way by expanding its field of activity to create social awareness against the types such as technology, shopping addiction emerging in recent years. Green Crescent, which founded YEDAM (Green Crescent Consultancy Center) that will present all kinds of counselling services for drug addicts and their families, continues to disseminate TBM (Addiction Prevention Training Program of Turkey) that will take addiction education to the national level.
