NGO of the Year: Green Crescent

Green Crescent was chosen as the NGO of the Year at the “Anatolian Media Awards" ceremony, organized for the 4th time this year by the Anatolian Publishers Association (AYD).

The NGO of the Year Award of the Anatolian Publishers Association was presented to Prof.  Mücahit Öztürk, President of Green Crescent, by Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, Minister of Family, Labor and Social Services. Delivering a speech at the ceremony, Öztürk said that he was accepting the award on behalf of all Green Crescent employees and the thousands of volunteers spread all over Turkey, and thanked the Anatolian Publishers Association for their support of Green Crescent.
Among those attending the 4th Anatolian Media Awards ceremony were Bülent Arınç, Former Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly; Süleyman Soylu, Minister of Interior; Abdülhamit Gül, Minister of Justice; Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, Minister of Family, Labor and SocialServices; Numan Kurtulmuş, Acting Chairman of the AK Party; Hayati Yazıcı, Deputy Chairman of the AK Party; Lütfi Elvan, Deputy Chairman of the AK Party and Mersin Deputy; Mevlüt Karakaya, MHP Ankara Deputy, Mustafa Kalaycı, MHP Konya Deputy; and İbrahim Kalın, Presidential Spokesperson, as well as many other politicians and journalists.
At the event organized by the Anatolian Publishers Association, awards were handed out in the fields of radio, television, newspaper and Internet media, recognizing poets, writers, scientists and true believers who serve our country, and to NGOs, who were awarded following a consultation process and a casting of votes by representatives of local newspaper, radio and television outlets in Anatolia.
