Winners of the Cartoon Contest will be announced on 16 January

Applications have been completed for participation in the International Green Crescent Cartoon Contest which has attracted a great deal of attention and aims to raise awareness and facilitate the public and especially youth to think about this important issue. 510 participants from 65 countries participated with a total of 1225 caricatures in the contest, for which the winners will be announced on January 16th. The works that are awarded in the competition will be exhibited during the Green Crescent Week.

Applications for the International Green Crescent Cartoon Contest, which was organized for the first time this year, have been completed. 510 participants from 65 countries, including the USA, Brazil, Mexico, European countries, Indonesia, China, Australia and the Middle East, applied to the contest with 1225 works bringing together the art of caricature and addictions. The artists aimed to target the portrayal of drugs, tobacco, alcohol, technology, gambling addiction, as well as the damage caused by dependencies on human beings and society.

The first place winner will be awarded $ 3000, and five other successful participants will be awarded $ 500 and a plaque of achievement. The results of the International Green Crescent Cartoon Contest will be determined by a jury of well-known local and foreign cartoonists.

Awards and exhibition during the Green Crescent Week

The jury members who will meet at the Green Crescent Headquarters located at the Basketmakers' Pavilion on January 13th, 2017 will award winning works based on 25 points for artistic quality, 25 points for humorous direction and 50 points for strength of social and cultural impact related to daily life. The International Green Crescent Cartoon Contest award recipients will be publicly announced on January 16, 2017, and will be given their awards during the Green Crescent Week. Works that became finalists will also be exhibited during the Green Crescent Week.
