Thousands of Cyclists around Turkey Pedaled for Green Crescent

In the traditional bicycle tour in 50 different provinces of Turkey, thousands of cyclists delivered awareness-raising message regarding the fighting against addiction. Once more, overstepping frontiers, the bicycle tour was also organized in Kyrgyzstan and Kosovo.

President of Green Crescent Prof. Dr. Mücahit Öztürk, indicating that every participant in the bicycle tour has a reason to live healthy, said "On behalf of Green Crescent, I thank everyone participating in the traditional Green Crescent Bicycle Tour, and everyone supporting us on this process to raise awareness."

Justice and Development Party İstanbul Parliamentarian Ravza Kavakçı also pedaled in İstanbul for Green Crescent’s Cause

In the traditional bicycle tour organized by Green Crescent, working continuously to raise awareness in the fight against addiction, thousands of cyclists pedaled for a healthy life, in Kyrgyzstan and Kosovo, in addition to 50 provinces in Turkey.

Once more this year, the İstanbul segment of the tour organized in cooperation with Cyclists Association, with 3.500 participants, was carried out in the historical peninsula’s 19 km parkour closed to traffic. In addition to thousands of İstanbulites, Justice and Development Party İstanbul Parliamentarian Ravza Kavakçı Kan too showed her support by participating in the event. Total number of participants in the tour, which started from Green Crescent Headquarters in Sepetçiler Pavilion and is attended by cyclists from all age groups, rose compared to last year. İstanbulites from every age group gave an awareness message in the fight against addiction.

Indicating practical global role model Green Crescent is preparing for its 100th anniversary since its foundation, President of Green Crescent Prof. Dr. Mücahit Öztürk highlighted in his opening speech a healthy life is possible by staying far away from addictions: "Our areas are expanding in the fight against addiction. The influence of our awareness activities is increasing daily. On behalf of Green Crescent, I thank everyone participating in the traditional Green Crescent Bicycle Tour, and everyone supporting our cause. In the 10th year of our Bicycle tour in 2020, we will continue to pedal with our ever-growing enthusiasm."

Thousands of Participants around Turkey Attended the tour

Cyclists Association President Murat Suyabatmaz highlighted that the participation to Green Crescent Bicycle Tour is periodically increasing: "We came together for the 9th time for Green Crescent in this beautiful Sunday in Sepetçiler Pavilion. As every year, we pedal again for the fight against addiction." Activity host Burak Arslan reminded that Green Crescent is the strongest of NGOs due to its fight against addiction which is one of the biggest issues in Turkey. As a result of the draw after the Bicycle Tour, 10 participants won bicycles.
