The Results of the 5th International Green Crescent Cartoon Contest Have Been Announced

The results of the 5th International Green Crescent Cartoon Contest, organized by Green Crescent to attract the attention of young people in the world and in our country to the perils of addiction, and to raise awareness through the universal language of cartoons, have been announced.

The 5th International Green Crescent Cartoon Contest, organized by Green Crescent as a means of raising awareness of the problems of addiction that threatens young people and the future of the entire world, and to raise public awareness – especially among young people – as regards to addictions, has been concluded. Taking part in this year’s contest, which was organized with the theme “The New Generation and New Generation Addictions”, were 1,088 contestants from 69 countries, who produced 2,034 cartoons, with first prize in the contest being awarded to Gökçen Çukadar from Turkey. 1,088 contestants from 69 countries, including, but not limited to, India, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, China and several European countries, applied to take part in the competition with 2,034 cartoons.

The theme of this year’s contest was: “The New Generation and the New Generation Addictions” In the contest, in which the main theme this year was "The New Generation and New Generation Addictions", a universal view of the problem could be drawn from the perspectives of the cartoonists, whose emphasis was on the preventive effects of a healthy lifestyle in the struggle against addiction.

The first, second and third prizes were awarded to Gökçen Çukadar from Turkey, Aristides Hernandez Guerrero from Cuba and Michael Mayevsky from Ukraine, respectively, while three achievement awards were granted to Ehsan Ganji from Iran, Ray Costa Nascimento from Brazil and Mehdi Azizi from Iran.

Finally, the Mazhar Osman Prize was won by Kürşat Zaman from Turkey. The entries were evaluated in terms of artistic quality, the application of humor in the approach to the subject, and the social and cultural influence of the subject reflected in the work related to daily life. The award ceremony will take place in June, when the awards will be presented to the winners.
