The 7th issue of "Addicta: The Turkish Journal on Addictions", official peer-reviewed international journal of the Turkish Green Crescent Society, has been published. This issue is also the 2016 special issue featuring “technology addiction”.
Addicta aims to publish interdisciplinary and international scientific studies to offer possible solutions to the global problem of addiction since 2014. In addition to that, the aim is to contribute to a high level debate on addiction, prevention, treatment, and policymaking. The journal is expected to be influential in shaping the policy changes in Turkey and the world.
The seventh issue of the journal includes Halley M. Pontes and Mark D. Griffiths’s “The Development and Psychometric Properties of the Internet Disorder Scale–Short Form (IDS9-SF)”; Young Yim Doh, Jimin Rhim and Seul Lee’s “A Conceptual Framework of Online-Offline Integrated Intervention Program for Adolescents’ Healthy Smartphone Use”; Selim Günüç and Ayten Doğan Keskin’s “Online Shopping Addiction: Symptoms, Causes and Effects”; Çiğdem Berber Çelik’s “Educational Intervention for Reducing Internet Addiction Tendencies”; Darry Mead’s “The Risks Young People Face as Porn Consumers”; Mustafa Savcı and Ferda Aysan’s “The Role of Attachment Styles, Peer Relations, and Affections in Predicting Internet Addiction”; Hüseyin Fidan’s “Development and Validation of the Mobile Addiction Scale: The Components Model Approach”. The journal’s special issue features two reviews by Hakan Kahraman and Emel Bedir titled “Period in Defining Addiction: From an Ex-User’s Pen” and “The In-Depth Analysis of Addiction” respectively.
Addicta is indexed in the Academic Search Premier (EBSCO), Turkish Psychiatry Index, Turkish Academic Journals Index, InfoBase INDEX, and Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
